Just a quick sneak peak of our soon-to-launch How2 site. Thank you to everyone who came out last Sunday to our first clinic. We had such an AMAZING time and can't wait to do it again.

We are currently ON A BOAT headed for Mexico and Grand Cayman for our first ever real life vacation together! Wish us luck (and smooth seas) it's our first time cruising! We will be gone from May 30th to June 5th and will not have access to our email or voicemail services (I don't know what I'm going to do with myself!) so if you email or call us, please note that we won't be able to respond right away. Thanks for your understanding and patience! We promise to respond to everything as quickly as possible when we get back.

I tried and tried to think of something interesting to write for this entry but the only thing that I can think of at this ridiculously early hour is that hilarious SNL short with Andy Sandberg. So.... I'll leave you with that, because we love Andy Sandberg, and it's one of our favorites...oh and we're on a boat!

We're off to NYC!
We will be out of the office from now until April 1st.

The conversation went something like this...

Becka: Plane tickets to NYC on sale today.
Nate: When are we going?
Becka: I don't know, wanna go?
Nate: Yeah
Becka: Really? Ok!

And that was it. Two tickets were bought for March 25-30th. It is just now hitting me that we are actually getting to go on a vacation. We haven't gone anywhere in a long time and I have the travel bug like you wouldn't believe! (Thank God for Jet Blue!)

I've been randomly shouting "We're going to New York!" as the excitement hits me.
Nate opened the door for me at a restaurant... "We're going to New York!"
We were waiting in line at the store... "We're going to New York!"
And today while watching TV..."We're going to New York!"

If you can't tell, I'm a bit excited. Nate's excited too, he's just much less like a 4 year old than I am and maintains his excitement like an adult. We don't have much planned. We have one photo shoot on the calendar but other than that, we will just be going wherever the glorious city wind takes us. We would love to hang out with any of you up there so if you wanna grab some dinner one day or be our tour guide, let us know. And if any of you locals can give us the inside info on some of the best places to eat, drink, dance, and shoot, we'll be your best friends forever. :)

The other day we looked in our inbox and it was there! Shimmering in all of it's congratulatory glory was our acceptance email from Modern Photographers! We are completely thrilled, flattered, humbled, and excited to now be members of such a talented group of photographers!

If you haven't yet heard, Modern Photographers (who's associated websites include trashthedress.com, rocktographers, and dontboxusin.com) is an elite group of professional modern wedding and portrait photographers whose work has been reviewed and accepted as the best of the best of modern photography. It's really exciting for us to have been chosen to be a part of such a mind-blowing group! I've been bubbling over with excitement ever since we received the email. We know that Thanksgiving makes you take time to really think about all the things you are thankful for. And we know that when you do that, the first thing you think of (okay, okay, maybe it's the second thing) is your favorite photographers. Then you become overcome by the desire to contact us or call us or email us to tell us you were thinking of us or to ask us questions about your photos or the weather or whatever else may be on your mind. We understand, believe me, we do. When we take a moment to stand still and think about all the things we are thankful for, you are definitely at the top of our lists too!

But for 24 hours we are going to fall off the "Studio222 Photography" grid. Yup, you heard me! We're vanishing! We're hiding out in our condo, cooking up a storm, relaxing with family and friends, and taking in all the cranberry and rosemary-scented goodness that is Thanksgiving. We are going to watch the Macy's parade, the Cowboys, and maybe Wall-E on DVD. We are going to hang Christmas lights on the porch and play board games. We are going to fill our condo with the smell of a savory feast and we are going to spend some quality time with each other. But we are not going to be working at the computers, checking emails, or taking work calls. Consider our office closed for the day. You'll be able to reach us soon enough!

In the spirit of the holiday, we decided to leave you with

1. Having people in our lives that truly love us and friends that are unconditional.

3. Getting to work with fantastic people, and getting to be that couple that gets paid to do what they love to do.

Hello lovely friends! We just wanted to let you know that will be out of our office tomorrow and Saturday for a wedding on Anna Maria Island. Please be patient with us if we cannot return your emails or messages as quickly as normal. We will be back and adding teaser images from the wedding early next week.

First off, let me just say..." YAY this is our 50th post!" Ok....


We've been really busy organizing and straightening up around here. We have a bunch of stuff coming up and we wanted to make sure that we are ready. One of the things we did to get ready was to update our website. As we evolve and grow creatively, we want to make sure our site reflects that.

We snazzed up the site by updating the intro page as well as the personal page about Nate and I. We also updated various little things all throughout. But biggest of all, we added a new client shopping cart and something we like to call "The Studio Haute Collection." It is an inspiration guide to help you (our fabulous clients/friends) envision your favorite images as gorgeous displays on your wall. Go check it out on our site! We'll be dedicating a blog post to it later this week.

Now that our blog has undergone its overhaul,

This is what it looks like, in case you were wondering. :)

After weeks of scouring the internet for the perfect website (and bugging all of my photographer friends about who did their sites) I finally found it! I’ve been working behind the scenes this month building the website and making it beautiful. Now it’s just about finished. It’s a strange feeling when things start to finally come together. A few months ago I would have never thought that everything would move so quickly. It’s so close I can taste it and I’m excited for the big public launch. We have some fun stuff planned for our online friends as we count down to the big launch. I can’t say too much because I don’t want to spoil any surprises but there will be a chance for audience participation so keep checking in, I don’t want you to miss out!
