I love this photograph. Nate took it yesterday at Lake Louisa State Park. Nate and I have a goal of visiting as many of Florida's state parks as we can and then making a photo book out of our images from them. (So far, we've been to 5 which means that we've only got about a million left to visit.)
Lake Louisa Park is mostly gray. The trees are old and tall, and covered in spanish moss giving them an almost grandfatherly quality. The bushes are all low and quite scraggly at this time of year. There are many lakes, but their cool blue color doesn't do much to change the generally neutral palette all around them. It is a very pretty place, but everything kind of looks the same. After spending about three hours walking through various nature trails, we were a little bored. We had only come across a few squirrels and a handful of local birds. But, as were about to leave, Nate spotted this bright red cardinal in the brush. It's color popped against the dull scene behind it. One little, cherry-red bird. We both smiled, and of course took a picture.
In today's wedding market, there are many extremely talented professionals. There are scores of websites, blogs, facebook ads, and marketing campaigns all trying to catch your eye. There are many fabulous photographers out there. (We know because we're friends with many of them!) But sometimes, amid all the talent, the wedding photography palette can blur together into a sea of gray. It's easy to get overwhelmed with choices, with your budget, and with all the decision making that goes along with planning the biggest day of your life. And when you get to that point, all you really want is to spot your red cardinal. For our clients, we were the red cardinal. We hope to be the red cardinal for you as well.
Christine, one of our recent brides, sent me these beautiful words today. We were blessed to be her red cardinal...
Becka and Nate are the most creative and unique photographers I've ever seen. By far, the greatest find of our wedding was Studio222 Photography. They captured every element we wanted captured and then some. They are so fun to work with and we became good friends the first time we met. I love the way they see things creatively, yet keep things so simple and classic. Not only were we looking forward to seeing our wedding pictures for the memories of the day, we couldn't wait to see the artistic element we knew they were going to use. If you choose Studio222 Photography, you are guaranteed to have pictures everyone will be jealous of!
(it's all true!) :)
